The Center For Food Education is 4 months into construction and…we have a roof! @hoar_construction is also working on putting up columns for the porch, fireproofing the main structure, and finalizing plans for the greenhouse. Over the past month, our staff has had the opportunity to tour the construction site and really envision the future of JVTF. Thank you for supporting our work and we can’t wait to welcome you back to our Downtown Farm!
We broke ground for The Center for Food Education nearly 3 months ago. Checkout where we are now! The Center for Food Education will be a flagship learning center that includes a state of the art teaching kitchen, an indoor classroom, farm center, administrative and faculty wing, and plenty of outdoor space for even more learning and growing to happen!
CENTER FOR FOOD EDUCATION GROUNDBREAKING
Today, our staff and Board of Directors had a small and safe gathering on our Downtown Campus to officially break ground on the Center for Food Education, where our nationally recognized Pre-K-12th grade “Good School Food” educational model will reach more students, teachers, school systems, organizations, and community members.
The Center for Food Education will be a flagship learning center that includes a state of the art teaching kitchen, an indoor classroom, farm center, administrative and faculty wing, and plenty of outdoor space for even more learning and growing to happen!
This dream is a reality because of the support we’ve received from local foundations, donors, and our building and financing partners. Our public campaign will launch early next year because we still have some work to do to get to our final campaign goal! We can’t wait to open our doors in Fall 2021 and if you know Jones Valley Teaching Farm, you know that we will host an unforgettable celebration when it is safe to do so.
